Afton Andersen Siepert, 98 of Rexburg, died Thursday June 30, 2011 at the Idaho Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born May 29,1913 at Independence, Idaho to Luella Irene Waldram and Charles P Andersen. She married Earl Lorenzo Siepert on September 30,1933 at Rexburg, Idaho and the marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City Utah LDS temple on June 6,1934. He died January 21, 1973.
Afton attended the Union school, graduated from the eighth grade at the Washington School and graduated from Madison High School. She was a three year seminary graduate. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving as Relief Society President and in other callings. She served an extraction mission for the church and was a very faithful temple worker. Afton did a lot of embroidery work to make the bazaars in Kilgore a huge success. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
Afton was an excellent seamstress, making the kids clothes and doing sewing and alterations for several years. She also taught 4-H classes. She loved her flowers and yard and always had lots of house plants.
She was the mother of six children; Gwen (Nielend deceased) Robertson, Jean (K deceased) Petersen, Fern (Virgil) Jones, Don (Neta) Siepert, Sharon (Mac) Huskinson, Larry (Faye) Siepert, eighteen grandchildren, 45 great and several great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, two bothers; Ross Andersen and Wayne Andersen, a sister Irene Marler, a granddaughter Brenda Huskinson and a great granddaughter Justine Ramon and two sons-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at the Park Street LDS Chapel in Rexburg, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Burton Cemetery.
