Obituary

Dorothy "Agnes" Hunter, 94, of St. Anthony, ID, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the Ashton Living Center.

Agnes Was born on March 19, 1921 in Granada, Colorado to Clyde Roberts and Katrine Sneller
Roberts. In the spring of 1930, she moved to Idaho with her sister Bessie, mother and step father Howard Hansmire.

She spent her summers on the dry farm in New Hope. She attended grade school in the Ora District, completed 8th grade in Vernon, and then moving into Ashton to attend and graduate from Ashton High School. She enjoyed school and socializing with her many friends.

After high school, Agnes married Tex Bennett and two children were born to them, Kathleen Rae and Michael. The marriage ended in divorce.

On July 7, 1946, Agnes married Glenn Patterson Hunter in Bozeman, Montana. Harold and Bessie Hobbs accompanied them as their witnesses to the marriage. David and Donald were born to this marriage. Then now became a family of six.

Glen and Agnes lived in Rexburg where Agnes worked at Porters Ben Franklin for 75 cents an hour. She then went to cleaning houses and because she needed help taking the glass out of the windows, she enlisted the help of her best friend Mabel Smith. Mabel and Agnes worked many years together and it eventually turned into a successful painting business. Agnes loved to paint the inside of homes and really liked to wallpaper.

Agnes loved to fish and camp in Island Park and Sand Creek Ponds. She enjoyed reading books, crocheting afghans, and doing jigsaw. She loved to work in her huge garden. It consisted of raspberries, strawberries and every kind of vegetable that would grow in Rexburg. She loved to dance with her husband Glen.

Family was very important to Agnes, and it was a sad day when her two sons and one daughter, Mike, Don, and Betsy Gae, due to many health issues preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Glen and sister, Bessie Hobbs.

Agnes is survived by her children, Kathleen Springer (Roy), of Hermiston, Oregon, David P.
Hunter, of St. Anthony and 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 28 great-great grandchildren.
