Alain Laurent Budge, 50 of Rexburg, Idaho, died Friday, February 4, 2011 in Nevada from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born December 9, 1960 in Provo, Utah to Gisele Maryse Julienne Clapier and Rayo Beck Budge. Alain spent most of his life in Southern California until retiring from the LA County Sheriff's Department and moving to Rexburg in September of 2005.
Alain married Donna Kay Myers on July 13, 1996 in Bountiful, Utah and they joined their families together. He was a life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as an Elders Quorum president, Young Men's president in a bishopric and as a temple ordinance worker. He graduated from Reedley College in Reedley, CA,with an Associates degree. He worked at Edwards Air Force Base on the NASA program, eighteen years as an Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff and for the BYU-Idaho Safety and Security Department. He loved life, his family, his sweetheart Donna and the gospel of Jesus Christ. He found joy in serving everyone. He was truly a selfless man. He enjoyed woodworking, motorcycling, gardening, racquetball and basketball.
Survivors include his wife Donna Budge of Rexburg, children; Brandon (Meghan) Budge of North Augusta, South Carolina, Adam Budge of Katterbach, Germany, Aubrey Budge of San Francisco, California, Jeb Budge of Fresno, CA, Brandon (Amanda) Wood of Imperial, CA, Angela (John) Thompson of Seal Beach, CA, Jamie (Aaron) Tonks of Hibbard, ID, Michelle (Judson) May of San Antonio, Texas, his parents; Rayo and Gisele Budge of Sugar City, siblings; Chantal (Craig) Cobia of Sugar City, ID, Tierry (Daphne) Budge of Orem, UT, Pascal (Laura) Budge of Keller, TX, Lisette (Paul) Clark of West Valley, UT, Jocelyne (Jim) Crane of Sugar City, ID, Janick (Cameron) Stephenson of Antioch, Tennessee and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at the Rexburg LDS East Stake Center (387 South 4th East) with Bishop Merv Brown officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday at the Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday at the Stake Center from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. prior to services.
