Obituary

Surrounded by his loving family. Lowe Alan Edlefsen of Victor Idaho passed away January 29th 2023 in Idaho Falls after a short battle with an aggressive cancer.

Alan, as he was known to everyone, was born July the 8th 1966 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Lee and Carolee Edlefsen.

He grew up in Parker, Idaho and graduated as a South Fremont Cougar in 1984.  During those years he learned the value of hard work and the satisfaction of a job done well.  Working not only at the local 5 and dime after school, but at his grandfather's Parker Idaho Herford operation  and in the summers at Teton Trail Rides in the Grand Tetons.

After graduation he attended the University of Idaho in Moscow where he graduated with a Bsc.

The love of the great outdoors,  the western way of life, and the smell of freshly cut wood lead him to a life of building.  From small projects at a younger age with his father Lee to managing the complexity of a corporate crew on multiple simultaneous projects.  He loved seeing something being brought from nothing and could see the project in it's entirety from start to finish. Some of his work in Jackson has even been featured nationally.

The sereneness of the great outdoors…hunting….fishing…and the competitiveness of team roping and a love of golf always relaxed his brilliant and humorous mind. Alan was always ready to help someone smile with a quick story  or joke, as he did many times over. It would make his day if he knew that he could make you laugh before you went on your way.

He was kind. He was generous. He was wickedly funny. He was incredibly intelligent. And he was a great cook, which he shared this talent with many, especially his family.

A devout bachelor for most of his life.... until he met and then married his love, Sherry Wagoner Edlefsen Sept. 23, 2011, in Jackson.

Above all, he enjoyed his family time, especially with Sherry and his children, Meghann, Rachelle, Sarah, Nathan and Mathew Wagoner and grandchild, Syrus Travis Furset.  He was a very loving and protective husband and father.

Surviving are his wife, his children and grandchild, his mother, Carolee Edlefsen, his sister, Erin Edlefsen (Chris), his stepmother, Joyce Edlefsen, his stepsisters Sally Myler (Aaron) and Suzanna Murali (Pratap) and children as well as nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Edlefsen.
