Alice Lis Ward, age 94 ¾ passed from this life on August 8, 2018 in Rexburg, Idaho. Alice joined her eternal companion of 68 years and in doing so has left a legacy of hard work, honesty and love that will be carried on through their posterity. Alice was born September 5, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois to Frank Lis and Mary Pietron. She was raised in Chicago where she attended grade school and high school. After high school she attended business banking school in California. She worked for First Western Bank, Lloyds Band and Sumitomo Bank.
During WWII she joined the Army Air Corps as a "link trainer operator" used to train flying personnel.
She married Robert Burns Ward in the Los Angeles Temple October 14, 1946. They made their home in Monterey Park, California – moving to Rexburg in 1978. Bob and Alice had two children, Barry Lamont (deceased), Roberta Boice of Rexburg, ID.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She willingly served in many positions where she made many lasting friendships. Her greatest love was her family and helping them. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and homemaker.
She and her husband served a mission to Nauvoo, Illinois and several stake missions. Alice loved to craft, read, knit hats for newborn babies, decorate her home and working on humanitarian projects.
Alice is survived by her daughter Roberta Boice of Rexburg, 7 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her husband Robert, son Barry, her parents, brothers and sisters.
At Alice's request, a graveside service will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, August 11,2018 at the Rexburg Cemetery.
