Alma Neal Timothy, 74, of Sugar City passed away on September 12, 2021 in Idaho Falls, Idaho from complications following a stroke. Born February 6, 1947, in Rexburg, Idaho to Elmer and Delsa Jacobs Timothy. He was the youngest of seven children, 2 sisters, Carol (Dee) Ard and Loa Deane (William) Sorenson, and 4 brothers, Gilbert (Nancy), Paul (Diane), Steven (Karen), and Gordon (Janet).

Alma had a passion for music and singing, participating in the Barbershop Association of Rexburg.  He was always free with a laugh and a smile, right to the end, even while in pain and finding words difficult to speak.  One of his favorite activities was playing Santa Claus and delivering oranges and candy to neighborhood children year after year. He was a dedicated husband and father and highly active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving a mission in the Gulf States in 1968.

He graduated from Sugar-Salem High School in 1965.  He received a Bachelor of Science from Brigham Young University.  He worked for 33 years in the Bookstore at BYU-I before retiring in 2012.

He is survived by his wife, Wendy; 6 children; Jeremy (Cynthia) Timothy of York, PA, ShaunaLee (Drew) Johnson of Hyrum, UT, Angela (Travis) Passey of Surprise, AZ, Taralyn of Lehi, UT, JaNae (Douglas) Hancock of Doe Run, MO, and Melissa (John) Voss of Sugar City, ID, 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and by his brother, Gordon (Janet) Timothy, of Rexburg, ID.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 17, 2021 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints meetinghouse at 6 Teton Avenue in Sugar City, Idaho.  Guests will be received before services at the church building from 12-12:45.  There will also be a viewing at Flamm Funeral home on Thursday evening, September 16th from 7-8pm.
