Anna Elwood

Sep 29, 1936 — Jul 13, 2026

Rexburg

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Anna Lounnedou Elwood, a beloved mother, grandmother and friend, who died peacefully on July 13, 2026, at home in Rexburg, Idaho, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 29, 1936, in Athens, Greece, Anna lived a life always faithful to God and the love of her family and friends.

Anna’s early years in Greece shaped her into a compassionate and resilient person, qualities she carried throughout her life. She moved to the United States in her 20’s, where she met her husband, Robert Elwood Jr. They lived most of their lives in Kalispell, Montana, raising their children, running a farm and eventually opening a Greek restaurant, Anna’s Greek Gyros. She was an excellent cook and made the world's best Baklava! Anna loved gardening and took great pride in her yard, garden and beautiful flowers everywhere you looked.

She will be remembered for her kindness, her ability to bring people together, and her unwavering support for her loved ones. As a mother and grandmother, she nurtured generations with patience, wisdom, and a gentle spirit. Friends and family alike will cherish the memories of her laughter, her stories, and the way she made everyone feel at home.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Alise Elwood, and grandchildren, Megan Elwood, Morgan Elwood, Ryane Rusch and Nathan Elwood, and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Elwood Jr., and son, Daniel Elwood. Her family will always cherish her love, strength, and daily presence. Her love and kindness will continue to inspire those who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate enough to call her Mom, Nana/Yiayia, or friend.

Fly with the angels, Mama. We love you more always...
