Obituary

Anna Belle Jackson, 90 years old, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of September 20, 2013.

Anna Belle was born in Hot Sulphur Springs, Colorado on April 6, 1923, to Virginia Heath Gilmore, and was somewhat of a miracle baby, weighing only two pounds at birth. Her nursery was a small grape basket kept in the warming oven of the kitchen stove. She spent most of her childhood years in California and graduated from high school in Hollywood, California. As a young girl, she spent summers with her grandmother at the family lodge in the mountains near Fraser, Colorado.

Anna Belle developed a love for art and painting in high school and after raising her family, earned a bachelor's degree in art at Mary Baldwin College.

She was an accomplished painter in oils and water color and her works adorn her home and those of family members.

Anna Belle met her husband, Dick Lowrey Jackson, while he was working in California for Northrup Aircraft during World War II. They were married in Denver, Colorado, on October 29, 1943 while Dick was on furlough serving in the Air Force. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS temple. They welcomed five children into their home and shared seventy wonderful years together.

Anna Belle raised her family while living in Utah, California, over fifty years in McLean, Virginia, and most recently in Rexburg, Idaho. She has 17 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. She was active in the LDS Church, serving in various positions at the ward and stake level.

Anna Belle is survived by her husband, Dick Jackson, her children Connie Clark (Carl), Kent Jackson (Jeanene), John Jackson (Kolene), Steve (Karen), and brother Jim (Nona) Estabrook. She is preceeded in death by her mother Virginia Estabrook and oldest son Wayne (Lucretia).

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, 10:00 AM at the Rexburg East Stake Center located at 387 S. 4th East, Rexburg, Idaho. A viewing will be held at Flamm funeral home in Rexburg on Tuesday evening, 5:30-7:00 PM.

The family expresses its appreciation to the staff of the Homestead Assisted Living Center in St. Anthony for its kind and competent care during her final illness.
