Ardyth Leavitt Coy, 94, of Egin, formerly of Rexburg, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in Egin, on May 14, 2018.
She was born on March 18, 1924, in Auburn, Wyoming, to Lorin and Eva Searight Leavitt. She was the 4th of seven children.
In 1944, she married Jesse Smith and they had one son. They were later divorced.
On July 22, 1950, she married Arthur John "Jack" Coy. They were blessed with four children. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Ardyth worked many years as a CNA. First at the Golden Living Center, and later at Madison Memorial Hospital, where she worked for 18 years until her retirement.
She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was always concerned about their well-being.
She enjoyed canning, quilting, camping, and cooking. At Christmas time she loved to make many different kinds of homemade candy to give to family and friends.
She is survived by her children, John L. (Laura) Coy and Orrin (Judy) Coy of Rexburg, Evalee (Scott) Liebert of Egin, Raetta (Troy Wise) Peterson of Idaho Falls; 18 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband Jack, and her son Robert Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, at the Egin LDS Chapel, 1633 East 300 North, St. Anthony. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., both times at the church. Burial will be in the Afton, Wyoming Cemetery under the direction of Flamm Funeral Home of Rexburg.
