Obituary

Arlene Weaver Meikle passed away on September 4th, 2021 at the age of 94 at the Spring Creek Assisted Care Center in Meridian Idaho. Mother was born on September 22nd, 1926 in Afton Wyoming to Elmer and Rose Weaver. Her Father died shortly after her birth and her Mother later married Joseph Allen who mother affectionately called Dad Allen. She had nine brothers and sisters. They were raised in the Afton Wyoming area.

Mother attended schools in Smoot and Afton Wyoming. As a young girl she worked at an aircraft factory in Afton. She met her future husband while getting a permanent and her hair done by Dads Step- Mother Olga. They dated for 6 months. She married Robert Lee Meikle on April 25, 1946 in the Logan Utah LDS Temple and they Honey mooned in Salt Lake City. She spent most of her married life living in Rexburg Idaho. Over these many years they have spent very little time apart. During the last years of her life she lived in Idaho Falls and then Meridian Idaho by her family.

She worked at the Golden Living Retirement center for more than 12 years. Her favorite hobby thru the years has been traveling with Dad throughout the United States sometimes pulling their trailer. She has visited almost all of the States including Alaska and Hawaii. She loved being with her family. Her greatest talent was that of a wonderful Wife, Mother, and Grandmother to our family.

She is survived by her husband, Lee Meikle and two sons and their wives, Val and Lois Meikle of Meridian, Terry and Shirley Meikle of Phoenix Arizona. She is also survived by one brother, Blair Allen of Rexburg Idaho. She has 5 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Children. She was proceeded in death by 1 Great Granddaughter, Faith Meikle.

Mother has requested to not have a funeral and in keeping with her wishes there will be a family gathering and viewing on Saturday September 11th at 11:00atFlamm Funeral Home at 61 N 1st East in Rexburg. Mother asked that just her family attend.
