IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Arvid
Johnson
September 1, 1941 – February 21, 2022
Arvid Lorenzo Johnson passed peacefully on February 21, 2022.
He was born on September 1, 1941, the son and first child of Lorin H and Mildred Jensen Johnson, who farmed in Burton, Idaho. From a young age, he split his time between farm chores and playing with is younger sisters, Janis, Marjean and Elaine.
Arvid was active in 4-H and FFA, and his farm responsibilities increased at a young age when his father suffered a stroke. Arvid attended school in Madison County and he graduated with an associates degree from Ricks College.
Arvid farmed in Burton and he faithfully visited everyone in the Barton farming community. He was a long-time irrigation board member. Arvid loved animals and was an avid and generous farm toy collector.
Arvid had many caring friends. He became active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and attended the temple in Logan, Utah on October 17, 2017, with several of his closest friends. He actively attended church meetings and the Rexburg Temple with the help of some of these friends despite declining health until COVID restrictions began.
He shared a close bond with his sisters, several friends in the community and beyond, and a large extended family. Funeral arrangements are being made through Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg, Idaho.
