Ashley Marie Freeman Koloa, 31, passed early Sunday morning, June 21, 2015, from heart complications.
Ashley was born April 18, 1984, in Rexburg, Idaho. She completed grades K-12 in Rexburg, Idaho then attended BYU-Idaho where she completed her undergraduate degree in Child Development. She was currently in the process of obtaining a graduate degree in Social Work and Substance Abuse Counseling . After completion of her undergraduate studies, Ashley spent time in both Utah and Nevada working in social services.
She returned to Rexburg where she worked as a Community Based Rehabilitation Specialist where she spent her time helping clients cope with mental illness and developing life skills. Although her job had its challenges, Ashley deeply enjoyed her work and helping others. Above all else Ashley loved her daughter Elli. They enjoyed watching movies together, swimming, visiting Bear World, and just spending time together.
Ashley is survived by her parents Robert and Teresa Freeman; siblings Josh (Lindsey) Freeman and Shantel Freeman (Michael Beckley); grandparents Lois Freeman and Dorene and Sheryl Funk as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved her very much. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Don Freeman, aunt Kay Mehner, and uncle Wayne Freeman.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26, at the Burton LDS Chapel. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Friday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Ashley Koloa Memorial Fund at Beehive Federal Credit Union in Rexburg.
