Austin James Price, 94, of Salem, died Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the Rexburg Nursing Home. He was born August 16, 1915 at Salem, Idaho to Wilford James and Ivie Josephine Judy Price.
Austin married Rula Murri on April 7, 1938 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He attended school in Sugar City and lived there a short time. He then moved to Salem where he farmed until his health failed and he moved into assisted living. Besides farming, he worked side jobs as a plumber's helper, electrician's helper, potato buyer, sugar factory employee, T.V. repairman, and water master.
Survivors include his four children; Deaun (Rey) Belnap of Tooele, Utah, LuDean (Dean) Palmer of Rexburg, Boyd (Rhea) Price of Salem, Margo (Edward) Skidmore of Terreton; siblings, Golda (Arthur) Hope of Spanish Fork, Utah, Loretta (Lee) Johnson of American Fork, Utah, Anthon (Norma) Price of Kennewick, Washington, Ray (Bonnie) Price of Salem, Idaho, Neva (Lowell) Oswald of Bountiful, Utah, 25 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his wife, his parents, brothers Kenneth and Milo and sisters Alsie and May.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010 at the Salem LDS church with Bishop Bart Lynn officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Friday from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Sugar City Cemetery.
