Obituary

Barbara Eugenia Deliso was a loving mother, sister and dog owner. She was originally born in South Carolina and settled out west in 1962. She met her husband Victor DeLiso in Hollywood, CA and quickly married and started a family. She had two children, Adrienne Maria and Victor Kenneth. Though marriage didn't last long, she had a close  family unit who all migrated from the South,  including her sister Toni, her husband Sheldon Zelanko, and son Phillip. She also had her Aunt Marie, better known as "Aunt Ree" and her husband Llyod Edwards, two children Llyod (Eddie) and Waymond. We spent many many holidays together, it was a special time looking back as it was too short. Time was a blink and as children do, we all moved and dispersed, changing all of our lives.

Barbara had a quick laugh, loved to tell jokes and was an upbeat person. She was a loyal friend and a kind and honest person. She was a very devoted mother and was always there when you needed her. And she never held a grudge!

She loved the LA Dodgers and took us all to many games back in the Burbank,CA days. She also coached girls softball for many years and was always encouraging and patient with her players. She also was a heck of a softball player herself playing shortstop and was a lead batter back in the day! She enjoyed Church and a singles group where she visited Yosemitee, Santa Barbara and many local treasures with church friends.

She lived in California most of her life, but settled in Idaho in 2008, to be nearer to her daughter. Her sister Toni soon followed.

Barbara and Toni- sisters became neighbors living next door to one another in a Senior apartment complex in St Anthony, ID. Lovely landscaping and a quiet spot on a dead end road was her place. Barbara adopted her dog "Buddy" and they had 9 great years together. He kept her going and Toni also had a little dog, and so they became good friends.

She enjoyed a long retirement enjoying the lovely small towns of Idaho including Rexburg, Idaho Falls  and her hometown St Anthony.

She enjoyed nature and a good window to watch the birds and squirrels from her duplex window. For most of her retirement years she enjoyed shopping trips with her sister and daughter, trips to Jackson Hole for lunch and sightseeing.

She died peacefully and comfortably  in Madison Memorial hospital, on Sunday, November 1st, 2020. Pneumonia took her within 3 days, she was gone.

In the end, Barbara  lived life on her terms, never using a wheelchair, never going into assisted living, never using the oxygen recommended by her doctors! She drove her little blue California car up until two years ago and lived to the age of 83. We just celebrated her last birthday in September with cake and presents at Toni's, the last photo we have of her.  She will be missed by all who knew her, and especially by her remaining family.
