Obituary

Barbara Ann Knight, 86 of Driggs, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2019 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born in the wild west of Jackson Hole, Wyoming on March 25, 1933 to Cecil and Evelyn Jensen.

Barbara's childhood in Jackson was one of cowboys, horses, and adventure. She spent much of her youth skiing at Snow King, helping her dad wrangle horses, and even once shot a man in self-defense. She met Bill Anderson while attending Holy Cross Hospital School of Nursing in Salt Lake City, Utah. They married and had three children together, a daughter, Shauna Knight, and two sons that died at birth. They later divorced.

She met and married the love of her life, Richard Thomas "Tom" Knight, in Southern California. They raised Shauna in Southern California before moving to Driggs in 1978. Tom and Barbara built their home and life together in Driggs. Their friendships and memories of the life they lived here will be cherished forever.

Barbara was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many callings including what she fondly called "the oldest Primary President in history" and adored the friendships she developed with her church family.

Her hobbies included sewing, crafts, and stained glass. Barbara made sure each new great-grandbaby was gifted with a handmade quilt. She also enjoyed cross country skiing with family and friends. Barbara was known for her culinary skills especially her cinnamon rolls, famous green pickles, and heart-attack French toast. She was the ultimate storyteller and could captivate a whole room with her tall tales. If you were a friend of Barbara, you felt treasured and loved.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Shauna Jamison; six grandsons; Josh (Dixie), Jarrod (Shelly), Eric (Beth), Kyle (Dayna), Mark and Todd, as well as 12 great-grandchildren. Upon passing, she was reunited with her loving husband Richard Thomas Knight, her brother Terry, and parents, Cecil and Evelyn who preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon Saturday, June 29th at the Driggs Stake Center, with Bishop Tom Hill officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the church and again from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. Saturday morning, prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Bates Cemetery.
