Belva Jean Staker Robinson was born in Newdale, Idaho to Vearl Clifford Staker and Rebecca Lyle Maupin Staker on August 26, 1925 and passed away at her home in Newdale on June 19, 2016.

She married Wallace Clark Robinson on December 19, 1944 in the Salt Lake City, Utah, LDS Temple.

Belva learned her homemaking skills as a young girl when her mother became ill and she was left in charge of meal preparation, house tidiness and care of her siblings, Donald Staker, June Staker Neibaur, and Dorothy Staker Lott Siddoway. These skills were appreciated by her children and grandchildren who especially loved her chocolate chip cookies and delicious rolls.

Belva traveled to many places with her husband and family but would have rather been home in her kitchen or in front of her sewing machine. She enjoyed sewing clothing for her girls and made beautiful quilts, giving one to all of her grandchildren at their high school graduation.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in Relief Society and Primary presidencies as well as many other callings.

Her life revolved around her children who are Larid Robinson (Kathryn) and Christine Harper (Bruce), both of Newdale; Peggy Gibson (Jack) of Rexburg; Janet Yearsley (Kim) of Hamer; and Patti Perkins (Dennis) of Kaysville, UT.

Belva was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wally, a stillborn son, her brother Donnie and a great grandson, Austin Eichner.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 25 at 11:00 a.m. in the Newdale Ward Chapel. The family will receive friends and family on Friday evening, June 24, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Newdale Ward and again on Saturday from 10:00 to10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery under the direction of Flamm Funeral Home.
