Benita Mundy Christensen,80, of St. Anthony passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020 surrounded by family.
She was the first born to Samuel Benteon Mundy and Dale Williams Mundy in American Fork, Utah on May 16, 1940. She grew up in Layton and Ogden Utah and graduated from Ben Lomond High School. She went on to attend and graduate from Utah State University with a degree in education. While at Utah State she met Bryant Christensen and they were married shortly after on August 31, 1962, in the Manti Temple. Benita was a city girl that found herself in the mountains following Bryant with the forest service.
They lived in Buhl, Shake Creek, Burley all in Idaho then to Circleville, Utah back to Challis, Idaho, then to Monticello, Utah then up to Ogden, Utah and finally made St. Anthony their home. Benita taught at schools in many of these locations. They had four children Craig, Kevin, Janice and Jennifer. During retirement, Bryant and Benita enjoyed spending their summers in St. Anthony and winters in St. George, Utah.
She and Bryant served two missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. First when Bryant was a Forester for the church and they lived in Centerville, Utah. Second when they served in the Nauvoo temple. She and Bryant made life long friends in each place they lived. She was loved by all who knew her, but especially her husband, children, and grandchildren who adored her. She is a great source of strength and peace to her family. She is a loving disciple of Christ.
Survived by her husband Bryant Christensen, her Sister Pat (Richard) Badger, her children Craig (Kristeen) Christensen, her daughter in law Jeanette Borovitz, Janice (Cody) Olson, Jennifer (Wade) Geisler, 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents and her son Kevin.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the St. Anthony 4th Ward Relief Society Room. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Anthony Riverview Cemetery. We encourage those attending to bring your own seating and social distancing.
