Obituary

Beth Gardner, 88, of Olympia WA, died March 16, 2020 in Providence Hospital in Olympia.

She was born April 15, 1931, in Moody Creek ID, to James Ellis Gardner and Neta Nibley Gardner. She was the 2nd child of 10 children. (2 sons died at birth). She grew up on a farm in Moody Creek and graduated from Sugar Salem High school. She went to 2 years of college at Ricks College, Rexburg, ID and 1 year at BYU in Provo.

She had many interesting jobs. Mothers' helper in Washington D.C., Cryptographer with US foreign Service, Cryptographer at US Embassy in Argentina for 2 years and a Missionary for the LDS Church in Argentina, South America. Legal secretary in Quincy WA, Secretary of Seminaries and Institutes of Religion in California, Washington, State Clerk-typist in Spokane, WA, and finally settled in a career as a Washington State Accounts Auditor, then Revenue Officer in Olympia Washington.

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, she had many callings and served and served wherever she was needed
After retiring she was a Seattle Temple worker for the LDS Church and served an Employment Mission for the LDS Church.

She had many nieces and Nephews and loved them all and was a second mother to many of them.

She loved to travel and enjoyed many trips in WA, ID, and UT. Also visiting Holland, Belgium, France, and Germany. She also traveled cross country on a trip with her sister Gayle all one summer and visited 17 states.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Glen Gardner and his wife LaDonna, brother Reed Gardner, brother in law Bruce Barrett, niece Kara Moon and nephew Emery Timke.

She is survived by 5 sisters, Gayle Gardner, Ione Barrett, Ruth Sidwell and her husband Richard, Kaye Manly and her husband Jim. A brother in law Dennis Moon and sister in law Marvel Gardner.

There will be a grave side service at Teton-Newdale Cemetery in ID where she will be laid to rest by her parents. There will be a memorial later this year in Olympia, WA.
