Obituary

Betty Alice Pack Barrott, 88, passed from this life at her home in St. Anthony on Thursday, July 29, 2021. Betty was born February 5, 1933, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Clarence William and Lucille Maryann West Pack. She and her siblings, Jane and Bill, and many of their cousins grew up in Blackfoot and Pocatello, Idaho.

Betty married her eternal sweetheart, A. Lloyd Barrott, on June 13, 1951 in the Idaho Falls Temple shortly after she graduated from Blackfoot High School. She worked as a bank auditor, supporting Lloyd in his studies in chemistry at BYU, and medicine at the University of Utah. They moved to St. Anthony in 1960, and into her current home in 1962, where she not only raised her ten children, but also welcomed their friends, many nieces and nephews, and exchange students. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her compassion extended beyond the walls of her home, as over her lifetime she delivered hundreds of jars of soup and loaves of bread to the sick, new mothers, and those who just needed cheering up.

Betty was an accomplished pianist and organist. As a teenager she was given a Blackfoot High School letter for her dedication and talent accompanying choirs and musicals. Later in life she was a member and accompanist for the Melodaires and for the 24th of July musicals. She encouraged her children and grandchildren to develop their musical talents.

Betty was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints throughout her life and served in many ward and stake callings. She was a Stake Relief Society President at the time of the Teton Dam disaster, and was instrumental in assisting the displaced. She and her beloved husband served in the Washington D.C., North, and in the Manchester, England missions, providing health advice and unconditional love to missionaries in those and many surrounding missions. She served for many years as a ward organist and music director, and put together beautiful Christmas and other special musical programs.

She is survived by her ten children, Ann Wicks (Oxford, OH), Lynette Stapleton (St. Anthony), Julie Willis (Rexburg), James Barrott (Chattanooga, TN), John Barrott (Kimberly, ID), Tyrie Barrott (Queen Creek, AZ), Holly Poloncic (Heber City, UT), Bradley Barrott (Pocatello), Mary Jo Barrott (Tampa, FL) and David Barrott (Orting, WA); her brother Bill Pack, 38 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister Jane Lundberg.
