Obituary

Beverly Ann Smith Wennerholm, aka Mom, Tee Dee, Mada, and Grandmama was born on November 4, 1931, to Clifford William Smith and Helen Margaret Winiker in Oxnard, California. Beverly was the oldest child and has a younger sister Kathleen J. Roberts.

Beverly grew up in Ventura California and graduated from Ventura High School. After graduation she married her sweetheart Roy Wennerholm Jr. of Oxnard, CA.  They ultimately became the parents of 5 children: Craig, David, John, Julie and Paul, grandparents of 23 and great grandparents of 42.

After her husband graduated from San Jose State University, with a degree in Electrical Engineering, they moved back to southern California to be close to her family. Due to the influence of good friends, Roy and Beverly joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1961.

Beverly's commitment to the Church was evident to all who knew her.  She radiated a love for the gospel and served in many leadership callings, ultimately accompanying her husband as they presided over the Philippines, San Pablo mission.  Upon return from the Philippines Beverly and her husband served as the Director of the St. George Visitor Center and Historical sites.

Upon completing their mission Roy and Beverly built the home of their dreams in St. George, UT.  One of her greatest joys was being with her children and grandchildren at her home for holidays and vacations.  Adored by her kids and grandkids she loved to laugh and play.  She radiated love and warmth to all who knew her.  St. George held a special place in Beverly's heart as she reconnected with many friends and family from across the country.  She loved the beautiful scenery and the Red Rocks of Southern Utah.

She passed away peacefully on the morning of February 9, 2022, in Rexburg, ID, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.  She lived an exemplary life of love, faith, and dedication to her family and service to her Heavenly Father.  She will be missed by all who love her, and we look forward to the day that we will see her again.

She will be remembered at a family memorial service at Pine View Mortuary in St. George followed by a graveside service at the Tonaquint Cemetery on Saturday, February 19 th at approximately 3:00 pm. Friends are welcome to the graveside service.
