Obituary

William Blair "Bill" Klingler, 84, of Rexburg, Idaho, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2013.

Bill was born on March 31, 1929 in Rexburg, Idaho to Alma and Henrietta Klingler. He grew up and attended schools in Rexburg. Following his mission to northern California, he studied at University of Utah, graduating in Electrical Engineering.

While living in Utah, he met and married the love of his life, Myrna Loreen Tronier, in the Salt Lake City temple on June 9, 1954.

Bill continued his education in Oakridge, Tennessee and Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, eventually receiving an equivalent of a PhD in nuclear engineering. Bill's newly acquired skills earned him a position back in Idaho, where he worked on the design of the reactor for the first nuclear powered aircraft carrier, the USS Enterprise. He later moved his family to Rancho Cordova, CA where he worked for Aero Jet Nuclear.

In 1967, he brought his family back to Rexburg, taking a position back at the INEL, where he worked for 25 years until his retirement in 1992.

Bill is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in a variety of ward and stake positions. He is steadfast in his testimony of Jesus Christ and often took the time to share it with family and friends. Bill loved his country, enjoyed being a licensed amateur radio operator, working in the yard, tinkering with electronics and mechanical items, and spending time with his family. He could fix anything. He was also a wiz at math, solving complicated equations in his head.

Bill was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa.
Bill took great pride in and always showed much love to his family which include his wife Myrna Klingler of Rexburg, ID, six children: daughter Debbie (Chris) King, serving a mission in South Africa; daughter Paula (Rock) Steel of Lindon, UT; son Michael (Brenda) Klingler of Iona, ID; son, Kevin (Karen) Klingler of Rexburg, ID; son David (Erin) Klingler of Iona, ID; and son Steven (Christie) Klingler of Rexburg, ID. He has 36 beautiful grandchildren and 29 wonderful great-grandchildren.

His parents and two older brothers, Lewis and Del Klingler, preceded him in death. Bill is survived by two sisters, Darlene Nelson of Rexburg, ID, and Shirley (David) Morrell of Brigham City, UT. He is also survived by two younger brothers, Val (Evelyne) and Elray (Vicki) Klingler, both of Rexburg, ID.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the Rexburg LDS 3rd Ward building (345 South 3rd West). The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Saturday at the church from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
