Obituary

Billie Dean "Bill" Rinehart died October 7, 2017 while at his son's home in Island Park, Idaho. He was born April 20, 1928 to Loel and Vera Mondt Rinehart.

Survivors include his children, daughter, Duanna (John Long) of Richmond Hill, GA and sons: Kim Rinehart (Beatrice Long) of Tucson, AZ and Son Kevin Rinehart (Collette Nebel) of Island Park, ID, 9 grandchildren 23 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Loel and Vera Rinehart, his wife Joyce Darlene Howe Rinehart, son Mike Rinehart, grandson Casey Rinehart and great-great granddaughter Haven Grace Dale.

Bill graduated from High School in Pilot Mound, Iowa and married the love of his life and high school sweetheart Joyce Darlene Howe August 17, 1945. As a couple, they farmed the Rinehart family farm for a few years before moving to Boone, IA.

Looking for something different after the older children were on their own; the family headed to Farmers Branch, TX where Bill worked for Boise Cascade.

Bill had visited Yellowstone National Park and made trips to Montana when he was young and always dreamed of life "out west". While on a family vacation to Yellowstone in 1971 he saw an ad in the Rexburg paper for a position at Porter Printing/Artco. After being offered the job, he, Joyce and their youngest son Kevin moved to Rexburg and eventually settled in the Parker/Egin area. Bill was proud to share that he was the 8th employee of this fast growing business and soon Joyce joined him there. They spent the next 14-15 years in Rexburg working with Art and Randal Porter to grow Artco to over 700 employees. They moved to Kilgore, TX to open and manage a printing plant in Kilgore, Texas.

After retiring in 1985 he and Joyce bought and operated the Ramshead Resort down the Salmon River with the help of their oldest son Mike Rinehart. They sold the Ramshead after 6 successful years and moved to their next big adventure. Saskatchewan Canada. This provided many family members and friends the great opportunity to vacation in one of the most beautiful areas outside his beloved Idaho.

Recently, Bill sold his Parker home and continued traveling between his children's homes; Duanna's in Georgia, Kim's in Arizona in the winter months and back to Kevin's in Idaho for the summer.

Bill loved his family, fishing, golfing and every aspect of nature. He was a big Yankees and Cowboys fan (something he shared with several of his grandsons).

A memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Bert Flamm Mortuary. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.flammfh.com.
