William Weimer
William "Bill" Weimer, 84, of Rexburg, passed away Wednesday, August 1st 2012 at Homestead Assisted Living in Rexburg.
Bill was born on September 24, 1927 in Moody to Mollie and Martin Weimer. He was a twin and they were the 5th and 6th of 12 children. He had six sisters and five brothers. He grew up in the Rexburg area where he attended schools in Moody and Burton. He graduated from high school in Rexburg where he met his sweetheart and lifelong love for almost 63 years, Fern Cherry. They were married November 15, 1949.
Bill came from generations of farmers so he was destined to farm. There was always work to be done even with 12 children. Bill and Fern raised their five children, Trudy, Terry, Daris, Shane, and Kim on their farm in Burton. Their children and grandchildren learned to work on the farm.
Bill is survived by his wife, his sons, Daris (Lorraine) Weimer, Shane Weimer and Kim (Jodi) Weimer all of Rexburg, a brother, Jerry Weimer of Coeur D'Alene, sisters, Mary Greenhalgh of Riverton, Wyoming, Irene Winters of Boise, Idaho, Martha Covington of Rexburg and Shirley Greenhalgh of California, as well as 12 grandchildren and soon to be 18 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Trudy Niederer, a son, Terry Weimer, brothers, Dan, Edwin, Johnny, and Ben Weimer, sisters Elma Thompson and Donella Grunde and one great grandson, Tate Malstrom.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 4th at Flamm Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the Funeral Home prior to services. Interment will be in Sugar City Cemetery.
