Blaine H. Perrenoud, 82, of Plano, died Friday, April 3, 2009, at the home of his son Scott, in Plano of natural causes. He was born September 10, 1926, the first of twin boys, to Sarah Ann Hemsely and Herbert Emile Perrenoud, at the family home in Plano. He was the 8th child of 10. He lived his entire life in the same house, with the exception of his last seven months with Scott.
He spent his early years under his father's tutelage learning the ins and outs of farming. He spent many hours on his favorite horse Belle. He especially enjoyed raising sheep.
He attended elementary school in Plano and graduated from Edmunds High School in 1944. He met his sweetheart in high school. He married Lois Bradshaw on June 11, 1948 in the Idaho Falls LDS temple in a double ceremony with his twin brother Blaire.
Blaine and Lois moved into one side of the family home. His parents lived in the other side. He continued farming with his father until his retirement. At that time, Blaine and Lois purchased the farm. They had one son, Scott. They farmed for over fifty years. Lois was his right hand woman. The raised beets, hay, grain and potatoes, sheep, cows and most any kind of pet that Scott wanted. They also operated a Grade A Dairy.
In 1961, Blaine lost his arm in a farming accident. It didn't slow him down for long. He soon had the use of his artificial arm mastered. He worked with it until he wore it out. He then hung it up on the back porch.
In the early 1980's, Blaine and Lois purchased a travel trailer. They spent many weekends in the Island Park area. The grandchildren enjoyed their time with them. They enjoyed traveling. They took several family vacations, including to the Seattle World Fair, Disneyland and Texas. In later years, Blaine and Lois took several trips to many places including the Grand Canyon, Myrtle Beach, the Atlantic Ocean, Branson, Missouri, Hawaii and Mexico.
Blaine is survived by his son, Scott (Linda) Perrenoud of Plano; grandchildren Rob (Stephanie) Perrenoud, Lesa Perrenoud, Randy (Lacey) Perrenoud all of Plano; brother Keith (Zella) Perrenoud of Draper, Utah; sisters-in-law, Leatha Perrenoud, Delsa Perrenoud; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Leo, Floyd, Blaire, Harold Perrenoud; sisters, Mary Byram, Laura Ellsworth, Lila Zollinger, Eila Pearson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7, at the Plano LDS Chapel with Bishop Randy Brown officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
