Blaine Sevuki Rama was born on June 8, 2007 in Long Beach, California to Paul and Jackie (Larsen) Rama.
He grew up in Southern California where everyday life was an adventure full of playing at the park, swimming in the pool and ocean. Having family in both Idaho and Hawaii, Blaine had the best of both worlds. In Hawaii, he spent countless hours at the beach, swimming, surfing, playing in the waves, and building sand castles. He loved all food prepared by his Nana (grandmother Ula Rama), but his ultimate favorites were her baba kau and roti.
Blaine also spent summers and winters in Idaho, riding around with Grandpa Larsen on the farm, learning to drive tractors, skiing and snowboarding, waterskiing and boating with cousins, feeding the fish at Warm River, playing Rook, and eating at Big Jud’s.
The family moved to Laie, Hawaii where Blaine attended Elementary School. During his 6th grade year in national testing, Blaine achieved the single highest math score in the state of Hawaii. Blaine began playing baseball in Hawaii and his strong arms were perfect for batting and pitching.
Blaine’s family relocated to Springville, Utah where Blaine continued to strike out batters on the baseball diamond until his interests turned more toward music and other extracurricular activities. Blaine was good at any sport he tried, but in his later teen years especially loved volleyball.
Blaine immensely enjoyed playing the piano and had such a desire to learn everything he could that he paid for his own lessons from two different teachers. He attended Jr. High and High School in Mapleton, where he was blessed to have a wonderful group of friends. His parents never worried about where he was or what he was doing when he was with them. Blaine graduated from high school in 2025 with Honors. He was an LDS seminary graduate.
Blaine chose Japan for his high school graduation trip, and watching him take in the culture, food, and scenery of that country was amazing. He was so excited to return in the future.
Blaine’s favorite time of year was Christmas at Grandpa and Grandma Larsen’s house. Those snowy vacations were epic, including marathon bowling nights, card games, and outdoor activities, but mostly Blaine just loved being around family. When recently asked about three things he enjoyed most, Blaine said, “working out, music, and spending time with my grandparents.” We are comforted to know that Blaine’s life was full of family and friends who share so many happy memories. Blaine will be missed beyond measure and we are so grateful to have had 18 years with him.
Blaine is survived by his father, Paul Rama; stepfather and mother Brook and Jackie Larsen-Robinson; sisters Brooke “Kiana” Rama and Bailey Rama-Robinson; great-grandmother Joyce Burby; grandparents Richard and Peggy Larsen; grandparents Raveen and Ula Rama, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by an infant cousin, Jovi Nelson.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Flamm Funeral Home.
