Obituary

Blair W. Heinz, 90, of Rexburg, died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. He was born May 25, 1933, in Rexburg, to William F. and Berniece Steiner Heinz. He attended schools in Rexburg, graduating from Madison High School in 1952.

He married Kay Taylor in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on November 12, 1953.

Blair had a variety of occupations over the years, with his primary and preferred being as a farmer, both of potatoes and wheat, and horses, cows and sheep. He was also a very proficient body and fender repairman. He spent most of his life farming and doing vehicle repair with his oldest child, Randall, who preceded him in death. Blair and Randall also enjoyed using their bulldozers on the Yellowstone fires.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in a variety of callings including Scoutmaster, Elders Quorum Presidency Counselor, Ward Clerk and Bishopric Counselor, including in a Ricks College ward and also served in the Rexburg LDS Temple in the Baptistry and at the Recommend Desk.

He lived his whole life in Rexburg and enjoyed watching the Utah Jazz, collecting guns and going on rides in his red Ford pickup.

He is survived by his daughters, Linda Jo (Spencer) Larsen of Rexburg, Idaho, Annette Heinz of Hyde Park, Utah, Beverly Parks of Ririe, Idaho, Camille (Courtney) Taylor of Herriman, Utah and his daughter-in-law, Sally Heinz of Rexburg, Idaho as well as 11 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Don (Marsha) Heinz.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Kay, his parents, a son, Randall, a brother, Lyle, and two brothers-in-law, William DeMott and Stan Taylor and a son-in-law, David Parks.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 13th at the Rexburg Stake Center, at 845 W. 7th S., with Bishop Daniel Coleman officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home and again from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
