Obituary

Blair D Pincock, 78, of Sugar City, passed away at home on May 18, 2014. Blair was born on September 17, 1935 in Rexburg, Idaho. The youngest of 6 children born to Douglas Pincock and Reah Dalling. He was raised in Sugar City but spent his senior year in Pocatello where he graduated from Pocatello High School. He attended Ricks College for 3 years served a 2 ½ year mission in Central America. Following his mission he married Noreen Furness in the Idaho Falls Temple on May 29, 1959. They are the parents of 3 daughters.

Blair completed his degree at USU in Logan, Utah and began his teaching career in Grace, Idaho. He taught 5 years at Bonneville High School in Idaho Falls and completed his master degree also at USU. He taught at Ricks College for 32 years where he was always happy to go to work. He taught in the winter, built houses in the summer and drew house plans, apartment plans and Maverik plans.

He received the distinguished teaching award on August 28, 1985 at Ricks College. Blair treasured his experiences with his colleagues, his friends, and his students. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served faithfully and unwearingly in many callings. In his early years he was a scout master and varsity scout leader. He served many years in College wards and stakes.

Blair and Noreen served 8 years together serving missions where he was President of the Argentina Resistencia Mission, President of the Buenos Aries Argentina Missionary Training Center, and Guayaquil Ecuador Temple President.

Blair and Noreen were honored to be the recipients of the Distinguished Emeritus Services Award from Ricks College in November of 2006.

Blair loved to fish, hike and go camping. He liked to build things and was a fierce racquetball competitor. He enjoyed golf and anything sporty. Blair always wanted to live his life so when he met his maker he would be able to hear "Well done thou good and faithful servant."

He is survived by his wife Noreen, daughters, RuthLee (Gabriel) Hernandez, Leslie (David) Bird and Judy (Mark) Oliphant, 12 grandchildren, 4 ½ great grandchildren. His brothers Vern, George, and Max. His sister Lorna proceeded him in death by a few hours.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2014 at the Sugar City Stake Center. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home and again from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Sugar City Cemetery.
