Bob Carlton

Robert Dewey Carlton, 82 of St. Anthony, Idaho, died Monday, November 3, 2014 at Madison Memorial Hospital of causes incident to age.

He was born October 21, 1932 in St. Anthony, Idaho to Albert William and Dea Jensen Carlton.
Bob was educated in Fremont and Madison counties and graduated from Sugar Salem High School. After graduating he went to work for the U.S. Forrest Service where he ran the pack line for the bugging crews who were spraying for pine beatles.

He married Virginia Marie Mason on August 20, 1954 at Rexburg, Idaho. They made their home in St. Anthony for a year and then bought a farm in Wilford where they raised Limousin Cattle. During this time Bob also worked for the State of Idaho at the St. Anthony Reform School (JCC) from where he retired after 23 years. Virginia died on April 4, 1994. Bob continued to live at the farm until his death.

He loved his horses and enjoyed breaking and training them. The more ornery and stubborn they were the more he loved working with them.

Bob is survived by Two children, Tamara (Montie) Cooper of Twin Groves and Alan Carlton of Wilford; his sister, Lorna Mackert of St. Anthony; 4 grandsons and 1 great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Lisa.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Bert Flamm Mortuary (581 E. 1st N., St. Anthony). The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Wilford Cemetery.
