IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bonnie
Mcdaniel
December 14, 1952 – March 7, 2024
Bonnie Jean Barclay McDaniel, 71, died peacefully in her sleep on March 7th, 2024 due to her lifelong battle with Lupus.
She was born December 14th 1952, in Saint Anthony Idaho to Robert Barclay and Verlean Davis. She spent her childhood in Saint Anthony until the age of ten. Her father had passed away suddenly when she was eight and the family needed to move for Verlean to finish her teaching degree. She ended up in the Salt Lake Valley and lived there most of her life.
One of her most prominent attributes was her caregiving. She was a sought after caregiver because of her personality, compassion, and her ability to put others needs before her own. It came naturally to her and she loved adding them into her life. She was the type of caregiver that
stayed until the end.
Her sense of childlike wonder captivated everyone who came into her life, but especially the children. She had a way of coming down to their level and pointing out the beauty of nature all around. Even though she didn't have grandchildren of her own, she made a point to collect them
from her nieces and nephews. It made everyone feel like they were her favorite.
She had many talents including oil painting, creative writing, card making, and sewing. Many of her family enjoy beautiful paintings of the Scottish highlands, personal portraits, and cozy landscapes.
She is preceded in death by her father Robert Barclay, two sisters Linda Lemon and Diane Nielson, and her late husband Jim McDaniel. She is survived by her son Jason Pevny, her mother Verlean Walker, her siblings Robert Barclay (Mary), Scott Barclay (Verna), Shari Pincock (Brett), Kathleen Gardner (Marshall) and a host of other family members and friends.
