Boyd James Price, 76, of Salem, Idaho, died Friday, August 18th, 2023.

Boyd was born July 28th, 1947 in Rexburg, Idaho to Austin James and Rula Murri Price.

Boyd married Rhea Jensen on October 17th, 1969 in the Logan, Utah temple. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served many callings including a member of the bishopric, youth leader, and Sunday-school teacher, which he loved the most.

He grew up and spent his entire life on Price's corner, in Salem. He went to high school at Sugar-Salem High School where he lettered in football, basketball, and track. Boyd set the record for high jump, being 5'9" and jumping 6'4". He continued his high-jumping career at Ricks College and ISU.

He worked as a rural carrier for the United States Postal Service in Sugar City, drove bus for the Sugar-Salem school district, and ran his family farm in Salem, raising beef and dairy cattle, sheep, hay, and grain. He especially loved spending time irrigating in the fields. He enjoyed farming, cooking, hunting, raising fish, and fishing.

As a father and grandfather, Boyd lovingly taught his children and grandchildren through his example of hard work, service, and patience. He was genuine, kind-hearted, and dedicated to his family. He was a well-loved and respected man.

Boyd is survived by his wife, Rhea; his sons, Eric of Manistique, Michigan, Matthew (Reegen) of Salem, Idaho, and Travis of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his daughter, Sherri Russell (Brandon Jones) of Cottonwood Heights, Utah; siblings, Deaun Belnap of Tooele, Utah and LuDean Palmer of Kimberly, Idaho. He will also be survived, missed, and forever-loved by his 9 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Margo Skidmore.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 25th, 2023, at the Salem LDS church, 3462 North Salem Road. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the Salem LDS church, and from 10:00-10:45 a.m. on Friday, prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Sugar City, Idaho Cemetery.
