Obituary

Bradley Gene Bauer, 72, of Wilford Idaho, passed away at home February 1, 2024.

Brad was the second child of Gene and Reba Bauer, born June 8, 1951 in St. Anthony, Idaho. He received his early childhood education at Teton Elementary and graduated from South Fremont High School in 1969. Brad continued his education earning a bachelors degree in business administration from Idaho State University in 1997.

Shortly after graduating high school, Brad was drafted during the Vietnam war and was stationed in Germany. Following an honorable discharge from the military, Brad continued his life career working for multiple branches of the federal government including the Bureau of Reclamation, Department of Energy, and Forest Service.

Brad lived most of his life in Southeast, Idaho, however some employment opportunities required relocating. He spent time living in Arizona, Northern Idaho, and retired after completing his distinguished career in Washington DC, and was recognized for his 40 years of service.

In addition to Brad's work as a contracting officer he had a passion for farming. He  spent much of his free time working in the fields around his home and at White Owl farm, the place he loved the most.

Brad's greatest  accomplishment was his seven children, who will miss him deeply.

He is survived by his sons and daughters Mike (Morgan) Smith of Alpine, Wyoming. Jeremy Bauer of Boise, Idaho. Sunde (Wade) Cornelison of Rexburg, Idaho. Zachary Bauer of Boise, Idaho. MeKenna Bauer of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Niklas Bauer of Sugar City, Idaho. Aubri Moody of Belle Fourche, South Dakota; brothers and sister Jeffery (Willa) Bauer of Winston-Salem North Carolina. Debbie (Jeff) Buster of Saint Anthony, Idaho. Kevin Stacey (Julee) Bauer of Wilford, Idaho; 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild.  He was proceeded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the Wilford LDS Church. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 10:45 am Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Wilford Cemetery with military honors.  Arrangements are through Bert Flamm Mortuary.
