Brent Simmons Garner was born January 26, 1930 to George and Myrtle Garner.  He passed away peacefully at home on November 7th 2025 at the age of 95.  Brent is survived by his wife Carole, his sons Eric and Collin, his daughters Brenda, Louise, Andrea, and Krista, along with 18 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son Quinn.

From a young age in Rexburg, Brent participated and worked hard in the family gravel and concrete business.  At the onset of the Korean War, Brent enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served honorably for the entirety of his enlistment in Germany.  Brent then returned to Rexburg after his service and continued to work for the family business, including operating his own small trucking company before leaving to pursue a career in the Madison County Sheriff's Office.  Brent served the citizens of Madison County for 17 years, retiring from the Department at the age of 62 with the rank of Chief Deputy.  Brent then went back to operating his own Trucking Company until fully retiring at the age of 87.  Brent has always been willing to help whoever he could, be it family, friends, and of course neighbors in Rexburg and Madison County.  He will be missed dearly by those who knew him well.

Services will be held Thursday, November 13, 11:00 am at Flamm Funeral Home. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 10: 00 am to 10:45 am.
