Bruce Adrian Lantz, 78, of Rexburg, died Tuesday, August 7, 2012. He was born November 26, 1933 in Tampa, Florida to Harry Adrian and Elizabeth Julia Stewart Lantz. His family moved and he was raised in North Carolina.
He enlisted in the US Navy at the age of 17 and served on submarines during his 24 year career and obtained the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
While station at the INL he meet Jackie Wood. They were married on February 14, 1967 in Idaho Falls.
They owned and operated 3 jewelry stores in North Carolina. Then came back to Rexburg in 1986 where they owned and operated Rocky Mountain Jewelry and Trophy.
He enjoyed bowling and golf. He also loved fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife Jackie of Rexburg, a son by a previous marriage, Keith Adrian (Kim) Lantz of Charlotte, North Carolina, a daughter, Cori Dawn (Randy) Smout of American Fork, Utah, a son William S. Barlow of Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter Amber Adrianne Martin of Idaho Falls, Idaho as well as 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Skip Lantz of Atlanta, Georgia and two sisters, Marica Jordan of Hickory, North Carolina and Kathryn Beatty of Spruce Pine, North Carolina.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
