IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bruce Edward
Lawlor
February 6, 1960 – May 18, 2020
Bruce Edward Lawlor (age 60) died May 18, 2020 at his sister's home in Rexburg, Idaho, where he had resided for the last 6 months. He was born in Torrance, California on February 6th, 1960, a son of Francis Earl Lawlor and Charlotte Irmgard Lenz. He was the youngest of 8 children.
Bruce attended elementary and Jr. High Schools in Carson, California. In 1974 Bruce accompanied his sister, Francine, on a 4 week tour and genealogy trip to Germany, Austria and Switzerland after having taken a year of German at school.
Bruce was the goalie in intramural soccer for Carson High while he was in the 11th and 12th grades. He graduated from early morning seminary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and also graduated from Carson High School in 1977, with the 8th highest scholastic ranking in a class of nearly 900 students!
He received a tuition scholarship and attended Long Beach State University at Long Beach for 2 years, working at Lucky Market part time. During his 3rd year his mother passed away unexpectedly. Bruce was unable to finish out his 5th semester. Later Bruce transferred to the National Institute of Technology in Cyprus, California briefly, and then to DeVry, City of Industry with a major in Electronics Engineering.
Bruce had various jobs in California and Washington. He did repairs on VCR's, TVs and computers. He also did carpentry and helped remodel the house he grew up in.
On April 20, 2014 he married Danielle Ballisteri. They were later divorced.
Bruce was very much a person who needed to be needed. He was very generous with his time and his money - people often took advantage of him. With deep sadness we bid Bruce adieu until we meet again.
