Bryan Birch

Bryan Martell Birch, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2026, at his home in Saratoga Springs, Utah, surrounded by his family.

Bryan was born on January 31, 1958, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Blaine and Janice Staley Birch. He was the oldest of seven children and grew up in the Rexburg area, where he developed a lifelong love of hunting, fishing, sports, and the outdoors.

Bryan attended Ricks College, where he earned an associate degree. As a young man, he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Taiwan. He learned to speak Mandarin while serving there and continued to use the language throughout his life. His mission was an experience he treasured, and his faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ remained important to him throughout his life.

Bryan married Kay Tamara King on August 30, 1979, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Together they welcomed two children, Katie and David. They later divorced. In 1999, Bryan married Tammy Taylor, and they welcomed two children, Melissa and Jacob. They later divorced.

Bryan spent much of his adult life in Twin Falls, Idaho, where he owned and operated Bryan’s Carpet Cleaning. For 32 years, he provided residential and commercial carpet-cleaning services. Bryan was a hard worker who took pride in doing a job well, treated his customers fairly, and developed lasting relationships with many of them. Even after he retired and moved to Utah, former customers continued to call looking for Bryan.

During the last three years of his life, Bryan made his home in Saratoga Springs, Utah, with his family, where he especially enjoyed time with his grandsons.

Bryan loved hunting, fishing, and tying flies, and he rarely lived anywhere without finding a hunting or fishing buddy. He enjoyed watching the Utah Jazz and Denver Broncos, movies and Westerns, and listening to Billy Joel and the Eagles. He loved family gatherings, holidays, trips to Lagoon, a good soda, popcorn, candy, and especially saltwater taffy.

Above all, Bryan loved people and cared deeply about his family. He was generous with what he had and was always looking for ways to help those he loved. Bryan often expressed his love through his actions—by working, giving, helping, and simply showing up. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, friendship, and love for his family.

Bryan is survived by his four children, Katie (Neal) Rogers, David Birch, Melissa (Josh) Walker, and Jacob Birch; his four grandsons, Caleb Rogers, Avery Rogers, Ezra Rogers, and Jaxon Birch; his brother, Marty Birch; and his sisters, Marla Birch, Kristine Newbold, Robin (Jeff) Naylor-Wilkinson, Naomi (Cliff) Berkey, and Laurie (Don) Fletcher.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Blaine and Janice Birch; Kay Tamara King, the mother of Katie and David; his sister-in-law, Pamela Owens Birch; and his brother-in-laws, Carey Naylor and Jim Newbold.

Bryan was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Flamm Funeral Home, 61 North 1st East, Rexburg, Idaho. A viewing will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Wilford Cemetery, 2531 E. 225 N., St. Anthony, Idaho. A luncheon for family and friends will follow the graveside service.
