Obituary

Bryce Earl Bowen, 75, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Monday, September 3, 2018. Bryce was born December 23, 1942 at the family home in Thornton, Madison, Idaho, to Grant Meredith and Margaret Adrienne Hawkes Bowen.

Bryce began school at Burton Elementary in 1949. He attended Madison Junior High and Madison High School. While in high school, Bryce was active in FFA. He was also active in sports, lettering in football and basketball. Bryce graduated from high school in 1961.

Bryce spent his early years working on the farm with his father and brothers. From April 1962 to November 1964 Bryce served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Brazilian South Mission. While in Brazil, he was a branch president, zone leader and district leader.

In 1965 Bryce enrolled at Ricks College in Rexburg. While there he met Barbara Anne Nelson. They were married November 11, 1966 in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Bryce has served in an Elder's Quorum presidency, in a Sunday School presidency, Sunday School teacher, Explorer advisor, Assistant Scout Master, Rexburg Stake High Counselor, and faithful Home Teacher.

Bryce raised cattle, grain and hay in Burton. He and Barbara are the parents of two children, Lisa Anne (Curtis A.) Perucca and Daniel Nelson (Sabrina J) Bowen.

Bryce is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara, their children; grandchildren Andrew Taylor Perucca, Brailynn Jean and Archur Bryce Hunter Bowen; brothers and sisters Charlene (David Z.) Walters, Keith H. (Diana L.) Bowen, Elaine A. (Charles L) Merrell, Jerome A. Bowen and sister-in-law Lynda M. Holley.

Bryce was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Meredith Grant Bowen.

Funeral services will be Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the Burton 1st Ward Chapel (Burton West building) at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Logan Bingham officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home and Thursday from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Burton Cemetery.
