IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carla
Lamph
July 26, 1947 – November 30, 2023
On Thursday, November 30, 2023 Carla Wilhelmsen Lamph passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving husband and adoring family and friends at the Carriage Cove Rehabilitation Center. She passed away from a neurological disease called Cadasil.
Carla was born July 26, 1947 in Logan, Utah to loving parents Bruce and Meredith Wilhelmsen. She was raised in Pendleton, Oregon.
Jim and Carla met at a dance at Ricks College in August of 1965, and they have been dancing together ever since. They were married in the Oakland Temple August 23, 1967. Carla majored in child development. Her only desire was to be a mother and homemaker, at which she excelled. Carla's natural gift of creating an inviting home, along with her talent of making delicious meals, brought joy to her and to all who visited. Many people left her home feeling loved. Carla was a wonderful and supportive wife, loving mother, loyal friend, incredible cook, and filled her life with charitable service towards others. She was a Christlike example to all that came in contact with her.
Upon Jim's retirement, Carla and Jim received a mission call to serve in the Atlanta, Georgia mission February 2014 - February 2015. Another highlight of Carla's life was the opportunity that she and Jim had to serve together in the Idaho Falls & Rexburg temples for 7 years, until health challenges made it impossible to continue. Carla was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved the Savior, her family, and serving others. We are confident that she is continuing her mission on the other side of the veil.
She is survived by her husband James "Jim" Albert Lamph, her children: Garin Lamph (Jennifer West), LaChelle Lamph Hamilton (Alex), Memori Lamph Barker (Greg), Jared Lamph (Kariesa Jensen), Heather Lamph Zentner, Meridee Lamph Clements (Joe), Jennifer Lamph Togiai (Jerry), Justin Lamph (Brittanie Nielson), Andrea Lamph Weaver, 30 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister RaNiel Wilhelmsen Nielsen.
She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Wayne, Kevin, and Alan as well as a granddaughter, Grace C. Lamph.
The funeral service will be held 12:30 p.m., Saturday, December 2nd at the Rexburg East Stake Center. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will occur in the Rexburg Cemetery.
The Lamph family would like to thank the care givers at Carriage Cove for their kind and loving care.
