Obituary

Carma Weatherston Cooper, 98, of Rexburg died peacefully at her home April 19, 2025.

She was born October 24, 1926, in Plano, Idaho, to Leo Stanley and Laomi May Weatherston.

Carma lived in Plano during her early years, then moved to Rexburg when she was eleven, where she graduated from Madison High School.

She married Clinton Dick Cooper on October 22, 1944. They were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on March 28, 1945.

Carma started working for JC Pennys when she was 16 and worked there off and on for 32 years.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities.

Carma enjoyed going places and being with her husband Dick. They spent many winters in St. George, Utah exploring every dirt road and canyon collecting beautiful rocks and decorative pieces of wood, which they brought home to beautify their yard in Rexburg.

She loved spending time with her family, and when they came to visit, she made sure no one went hungry. At Thanksgiving and Christmas, she used her mother's famous recipe to make butterscotch pie for everyone to enjoy.  Carma enjoyed playing cards with her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. She spent time crocheting, sewing, embroidering, tying quilts and doing word puzzles.

She is survived by: brother Ralph (Vida) Weatherston, of Rexburg, Idaho; sister Geneal (Micky deceased) Havens, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; brother Leon (Bonnie) Weatherston, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; children: Jackilyn (Allen) Carver, of Ogden, Utah; Clinton Dana (Karen, deceased) Cooper, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Troy Dick (Deon, deceased) Cooper, of Roosevelt, Utah; 11 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Marvin Weatherston, sister Reah Millward, brother Dale Weatherston, daughter Sandra Cooper, daughter-in-law Karen Cooper, daughter-in-law Deon Cooper, grandson Travis Wielang, and great-granddaughter Odette Cooper.
