Carma Young Heilesen Farley, long time resident of Parker passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Heritage Homes Assisted Living in Rexburg, Idaho. A special thanks from the family to all who took such good care of her.
Carma was born March 17, 1925 in Burton, Idaho to James Milton and Tressie Heilesen. Growing up on a farm, she learned the value of hard work. She attended grade school in Burton and graduated from Madison High School in May of 1943. She worked at the Genealogical Society in Salt Lake City, Utah from 1944 to 1946. She served two LDS missions. The first one to the Northern States Mission from 1947 to 1948, and then a Senior Mission to the Texas, Houston Mission from 1991 to 1993.
She married Harold Lynn Farley February 14, 1950 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They lived in Parker ever since, with the exception of a short time to Grant and Salt Lake City. She and her husband were the sextons of the Parker Cemetery for several years. She also worked for years at Artco and at the JCC as a grandma in the grandparent program.
She was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many callings in the different organizations.
She is survived by her children, Linda S. Wight (Jay) of Malad, Idaho; Judy A. Grover (Bill) of Labelle, Idaho; Danny L. Farley of Layton, Utah; Sherri L. Moser (Galyn) of Teton, Idaho; Michael J. Farley (Deann) of Dillon, Montana; Jon W. Farley of Parker, Idaho; Melanie Walker (Kim) of Lyman, Idaho and Alene Klingler (Gary) of Rexburg, Idaho; two sisters, Kathleen Ipsen of Malad, Idaho and Sharon Lingren (Clinton) of San Diego, California; 41 grandchildren and 68 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, four sisters, four grandchildren and her daughter-in-law Julie.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Parker LDS Church with Bishop Jace Yancey officiating. The family will meet with friends Friday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 pm and again Saturday morning from 10:00 to 10:45 am both at the Parker Church.
Burial will be in the Parker Cemetery under the direction of Bert Flamm Mortuary.
