Obituary

Carol Alice Clark De Graw, 72, passed away, January 24, 2021, surrounded by family.

Carol was the youngest child born to Harold Morris Clark and Evelyn Mae Thayne Clark. She was welcomed into the family on May 17, 1948, in Tacoma, Washington.

She graduated from Stadium high school, located in Tacoma, Washington, in 1966 and moved to Rexburg to continue her education at Ricks College. In October 1966, she met Rick Eugene De Graw and they were married on December 17, 1966 in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Carol put aside her education to raise her family. The first few years were spent moving around the country to be with her husband, who was enlisted in the United States Air Force. Rick and Carol had 6 children born into their family and they lost a daughter (stillborn) in 1971, which was a difficult experience for her.

Carol decided to complete her education in 1980, so she enrolled in Ricks College and completed her associates degree in education. She then went on to BYU for her Bachelors degree and then to ISU to earn her Masters degree in Education Administration. She loved learning and continued to attend college and received a certification endorsements to teach Special Education. She fervently instilled the importance of education to her family.

She loved her family and always reached out to help when she could. She was a compassionate friend to all who where suffering or alone. Inviting widows, homeless and the downtrodden to her home and making them feel welcome and loved.

She had the privilege to go on a mission with her husband to Cincinnati, Ohio, and loved meeting and spending time with the missionaries and people she met there.

She enjoyed reading, listening to music and spending time with her family. She loved the gospel and lived it every day. She also enjoyed working in the temple.

She is survived by her husband, Rick E. De Graw; her daughter, Shauna De Graw, of Rexburg, Idaho; her sons, Kurt (Krista) De Graw of Highland Ranch, Colorado, Ryan (Kristen) De Graw of Rexburg, Idaho, Richard H. (Carrie) De Graw of Rexburg, Idaho and Joseph (Amy) De Graw of Clinton, Utah; a son-in-law, Terry Matchett; brothers Larry (Debbie) Clark and Donald (Gail) Clark; 23 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
