Obituary

Carol Huskinson Hopkins died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, August 3rd at Parkwood Meadows Assisted Living Community in Idaho Falls.

She was born on Christmas day in 1928, in Moody (Sugar City), Idaho, to Albert and Harriet Howells Huskinson. Carol grew up during hard times on a farm--helping raise animals and grow potatoes and other crops by hand. She was an excellent student and graduated at the top of her class from Sugar City High School. Carol was a self-taught bookkeeper, working for several businesses to support her family. She went on to work in banking and retired after many years of dedicated service at the age of 77. She lived and worked in Idaho, California, and Washington.

Carol was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was very giving, despite her meager circumstances. She was best known for her amazing cooking and for her love of playing games with family and friends. Despite serious memory problems in recent years, she could still often "whip the youngsters" in cards. She lived for family and family activities. One person she might have loved as much as family was "little Johnny Stockton" of her beloved Utah Jazz.

Carol married (July 3, 1949) and later divorced Lester Hopkins. She is survived by all of their children: Carolyn Wygans (Phil), Debbie Allen, Bryan Hopkins (Carrie), and Shelley Ramey. She is also survived by all of her 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and dozens of family members who loved "Aunt Carol". She had a joyous reunion with those that preceded her in death, including her parents, Albert Huskinson and Harriet Howells, and her siblings: Iola Stone (Ronald), Donna Ricks (Lynn), Ardell Ricks (Vance), and Larry Huskinson (Annona).
