Carolyn Kay Dixon, age 70, died February 17, 2014 at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was born July 3,1943 in Rexburg, Idaho to Lila Mayers and Leslie Mayers.
She loved the outdoors, she would go camping and loved to fish. After high school she met her future husband, Jerry Dixon. The fell in love and got married on August 31,1963 in Rexburg. They moved to West Yellowstone, Montana where they started their family. She enjoyed the winter days in West Yellowstone, building snowmen with her two children.
When she was on her third child, they moved to Rexburg where they lived for three years. The flood of 1976 caused them to leave and move to Terreton. There they had another son.
They eventually moved back to Rexburg where they lived the remainder of their lives. She loved her children and grandchildren and her new great grandchild. She was a recent church attender and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children; Sheila (Paul) Castro of Idaho Falls, Jimmy Dixon of Mud Lake, Tammy (Bannon) Mattson of Rexburg and Michael Dixon of Rexburg, 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a step-sister Carol Hayes.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry Dixon , half brother Harold Mayers
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2014 at the Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg with Bishop Ed Kumferman officaiting. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
