Obituary

Carolyn Jensen Siepert passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 21, 2023. She was born to Anthon Udell and Alta Jensen on March 23, 1948, in Blackfoot, Idaho. She grew up with six siblings Anthony Jensen, Philemon Jensen, Arvid Jensen, Myrna Lyman, Marilynn Murri, and Perry Jensen. Carolyn spoke fondly of the time she spent working on their family farm pulling weeds and picking berries. Despite being painfully shy she enjoyed singing with her sisters at weddings, funerals and in choirs. Carolyn told exciting stories of her twin sister, Marilynn and her speaking their own language as toddlers, switching places in school to take tests for each other and getting into all kinds of trouble.

Carolyn married Jerry Mark Siepert on August 10, 1967, in the Idaho Falls, Idaho LDS temple. They made their home in Rexburg, Idaho where they raised their family. Carolyn was creative and talented beyond measure, making jewelry for her granddaughters and others. She made sure to leave space to inspire her children in their creative ventures by displaying their artwork around the house for all to see. Carolyn spent much of her life working right alongside her husband and best friend Jerry, who preceded her in death just a few short months ago. Carolyn and Jerry loved and enjoyed visits from their family, friends and caregivers who stopped by on their days off.

Carolyn is survived by her five kids: Kayleen (Rob) Oakes, Janell (Ryan) Orme, Galand (Ashley) Siepert, Gordon Siepert, and Gerald (Kellie) Siepert. Her grandchildren: Trey (Jayci) Orme, Kylee (Drew) Reynolds, Lacey (Kellen) Ballard, Jolee Orme, Keagan (Mykilee) Siepert, Ashlyn Siepert, Ryker (Karlie) Siepert, Saige Siepert, Kaili (Alex) Kean, Izabelle Siepert, Kasteel Siepert, Grey Siepert, Cody (Nikita) Oakes, Jordan (Tiffany) Oakes, Heather (Jason) Holt, Whitney Oakes as well as 11 great grandchildren.

There are no words that could adequately describe the gratitude our family feels for the love, care, and compassion shown by the staff, care givers, and hospice team at the Homestead. We know that she loved each of you! Thank you!
