Cassie Lydia Holden Jensen, 76, of Rexburg passed away Saturday, March 31st, 2018, at Heritage Assisted Living surrounded by family. Cassie was born on October 27, 1941, in Driggs, Idaho, to Maurice Dean and Alice Holden. She was the second of four children.
At the age of two months, Cassie and her family moved to Southern California, where they lived until she graduated from Paramount High School in 1960. She moved back to Rexburg to attend Ricks College, where she met Lionel James Jensen. They were married on Sept. 1, 1961, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Cassie worked for the Madison School District as a substitute teacher for 10 years. In 1988 she became the attendance secretary at Madison Junior High until she retired in 2009. She loved being around the students and will be remembered for her loving kindness.
Cassie was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many callings throughout her life. She especially loved working with the young women and serving in the temple. Cassie's life revolved around her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She spent countless hours attending their many activities and sporting events, and she loved every minute of it. She also enjoyed sewing and genealogy work. She spent many hours working in her yard and planting flowers, which always looked beautiful. Cassie loved spending time with her friends, especially going on lunch dates.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lionel James; her son, Randall Lionel; and her parents. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Jerry Holden, Lyle Holden, and a half brother Carl Barlow. She is survived by her four children, Jeff (Sindy) Jensen of Rexburg; Paula (Wayne) Wilcock of Fairview, Utah; Kellie (Craig) Murdock of Terreton; and Pam (Rod) Parkinson of Rexburg; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Karren Anderson. The family would like to thank the Homestead, Carriage Cove, Heritage Assisted Living, and Solace Home Health and Hospice for their loving care.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 5th , 2018, at the Burton East LDS Church, 2332 West 2000 South, with Bishop Mike Bressler officiating. The family will receive friends at the Flamm Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 pm, and Thursday from 10:10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be at the Burton Cemetery.
