Cecil Ray Larson, 78, of St. Anthony, passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, following various health issues.
He leaves his wife of 34 years, Mary Larson, son Randy Larson of Idaho, daughter Rhonda Larson of Wilford, daughter Kristin and Jim Carranza of Salt Lake City, Utah; stepchildren Tommy Rawson of St. Anthony, Terri Swinney of Lenoir City, Tennessee and Christy Coburn of St. Anthony.
16 grandchildren: Shane, Tim, Kelly, Jiah, Matt, Azure, Jesse, Jade, Jarod, Tyler, Keith Jr., David, Sierra, Juan, Elizabeth, Majesta.
16 great-grandchildren: Beau, Kaily, Kaydon, Maddy, Aaliyah, Logan, Myabella,, Persaeus, Konrad, Keith III, Myleigha, Maddox.
He is preceded in death by his parents George Christian Larson and Marvela Edith Bird Larson; brothers Lowel, Dale, Dean, Gary; sisters Karen Larson, Dorothy Creen; stepson Eddie Coburn; granddaughter Jena Carranza; son-in-law Keith Swinney Sr.
Survived by sisters Lois Smith of Idaho Falls and Elda Bacula of Colorado.
Born Oct. 10, 1938, in Rexburg and raised in Wilford, he was a life-long resident of Idaho. Cecil was drafted in the Army and served his country for 3 years in Alaska, serving in various positions. Upon getting out with an honorable discharge he worked at Simplot, the Teton Dam, American Falls and then retired after 15 years from Madison County Road and Bridge.
Cecil enjoyed working in his shop with wood, making various pieces of furniture, detailed lamps, clocks, pictures and what he called grown-up toys, such as detailed dump trucks, backhoes, graders, bulldozers and scrapers.
A private family viewing was held Sept. 17, 2017, at Flamm Funeral Home. His ashes will be laid to rest between his parents at Wilford Cemetery marked with a Military Memorial Plaque.
