Obituary

Charles (Charlie) LaMar Arnold Sr., 90, died from COVID on Monday, September 27, 2021. He was the son of Charles Henry Arnold and Stella Naomi (Blanchard) Arnold.

He is survived by his wife, Tongyoo SangMangTub Arnold, of 48 years; his daughters, Cindy Lynette, Thipsukon, Mary, and Jacqueline (Jackie)Yvonne; his sons, Charles Lynn, Michael Denton, Charles Leonard; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and a granddaughter.

Charlie was born in St. Anthony Idaho. He and his sister Patricia (Carol) Lawhorne were raised and spent many happy years between Utah and Idaho. He loved sharing stores, hunting and fishing. He graduated from South Fremont High School and then joined the Air Force after graduation. He faithfully served until 1953.

In 1953 Charlie married Joyce Williams and they welcomed three children, Charles Lynn, Michael and Cindy. They lived in several places to include Idaho, Texas, Oklahoma. Charlie and Joyce divorced in 1971.

In 1972 Charlie and Tongyoo SangMangTub were married and welcomed four children, Thipsukon, Charles Leonard, Mary and Jackie. They made their home in Virginia and Tennessee for a time.

Charlie continued working with the Department of Defense for many years. Serving in many places such as Egypt, Thailand, Vietnam as well as working at the Lynchburg Foundry in Virginia.

A celebration of life with military honors will be held at Veteran Park/Clyde Keefer Memorial Park in St. Anthony, on Friday, October 1st, at 11:00 a.m. with a light luncheon provided at the Chester Pavilion 2904 E 800 N, Chester to share stories and visit.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a local VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) in the name of Charles LaMar Arnold.
