Obituary

Clara Marie Hansen Taylor, 87, of Ammon, ID, returned to her loving Heavenly Father on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017.

Clara was born Sept. 17, 1930, in Pocatello, ID, to Lola Margaret McBride (Browning) and Milton Dale Hansen. She was raised in St. Anthony, ID.

Clara married the love of her life, Gene Earl Taylor, on Nov. 16, 1948, in the Idaho Falls Temple. They resided in St. Anthony for 6 years and then moved to Idaho Falls, ID, where they still reside. After Gene retired, they would take the winter months and move to Scottsdale, AZ, but always returned in the Spring to be near their family.

Clara served as President of the Idaho Falls School Dist. 91 P-TA Council from 1966-1967. She was on the Festival of Trees Committee for many years. She enjoyed snowmobiling, playing cards, embroidering, and hostessing getaways and parties for her husband's business. She put together the best Thanksgiving meal and Christmas day gatherings. She enjoyed attending her children's and grandchildren's activities whenever she could to cheer them on. Clara was an amazing and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and daughter.

Clara was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had been in the Ward Primary Presidency, YWMIA Stake Presidency, teacher of youth and young women, and Seminary teacher for the special needs youth. She served a mission with her husband from 1986-1987 in the Mesa Temple Visitors Center.

She is survived by her husband, Gene; children, Kenneth Taylor (Karma), Vicki Tolman (Bruce), Deborah Palmer (Elden), Janet Ricks (Ryan) all of Idaho Falls, ID, and Lori Burke (Jim) of Snohomish, WA; brother Mac Browning (Terry) of Boise, ID. She had 28 grandchildren and 64 great-grandchildren.
