Obituary

Claudia Thon Warner of Boise, Idaho returned home to the loving arms of her Father in Heaven, September 16, 2018. She passed away at The Homestead assisted living facility in Rexburg, Idaho.

She was born February 23, 1937 to Alwyn Arthur and Hazel Margaret Hall Thon, at Dee Hospital in Ogden, Weber County, Utah.

Claudia was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and spent all of her life in faithful devotion to the Savior of the World, Jesus Christ.

She served in many church callings, including Young Women's President, Relief Society President, Stake Relief Society President and taught Gospel Doctrine. She and her husband, Delbert, also served in the Boise Temple for many years and served several church service missions, including the Boise Bishop's Storehouse. Claudia was a true disciple of Christ.

She attended Ogden High School and Ben Lomand High School, graduating in 1955.

Claudia met the love of her life during her sophomore year in high school, Delbert Leo "Smidge" Warner. They married February 25, 1955, two days after her eighteenth birthday and a few months before her high school graduation. A few years later, they were sealed in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple.

Claudia grew up on 17 th Street in Ogden, Utah, just west of the Ogden Pioneer Stadium.

After marrying, she and Delbert lived in Ogden. In 1956, they welcomed their first son, Delbert Bradley, into the family. Later, they were joined by another son, Gregory Scott, and then a daughter, Alicia.

As a young family, and for years to come, Del and Claudia spent many weekends at "The Cabin." It was built by Claudia's father, Al, and sat on the South Fork of the Ogden River in Huntsville, Utah. With their children, Del and Claudia spent hours sharing fun stories, tubing the river, cooking hotdogs over an open fire, and simply enjoying the love and comradery of family.

Later, Del and Claudia moved to Pocatello, Idaho, where they stayed for 25 years. Then Del took a position in Boise, Idaho, where they lived for over 30 years.

Claudia is survived by Delbert, her husband of 63 years; son Brad Warner of Ogden, UT; son, and daughter-in-law, Greg and Karen Warner of Rigby, ID; daughter and son-in-law, Alicia and Mike Blickfeldt of Eden, UT; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alwyn and Hazel Thon, a brother, Gregory Thon, a sister, Barbara Thon Millar Kirchmann, two grandsons, Scott and Tyler Snowden; and a granddaughter, Heather Nicole Warner Smith.
