Clea Hill Freeman, 89, of Rexburg, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at her daughter's home of natural causes. She was born January 14, 1920 in Independence, Idaho. She was the second of eight children born to Robert and Hazel Thomason Hill.
She attended the first six years of school in Independence, and seventh and eighth grade at Cedar Point in Lyman. She had to quit school half way through the ninth grade as her parents could no longer afford the fees. She was sent to live with her Aunt Gladys Spaulding when she was 10 years old, where she resided for two years.
She married Thomas Dean Freeman on April 7, 1940 in Heman, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She was a talented seamstress, loved her family and the outdoors. She enjoyed spending time camping, motorcycling, and hunting with her children and grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank Nanette Pincock, Katrina Wygal, Lisa Bauer, Kendra Pincock; and Alliance Hospice for the loving care they provided.
She is survived by her children Carolyn Elliot of Rexburg, Richard (JoAnn) Freeman and Michael (Leslie) Freeman of Idaho Falls, Linda (Steve) Faler of Rexburg, Terry (Chris) Freeman of Moses Lake, Washington; sisters, Lettie Anderson and Jean Young of Idaho Falls, Leona Ferrera of Rhode Island; 35 grandchildren and 81 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26 at the Lyman 2nd Ward Chapel with Bishop Grant Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Burial will be in the Burton Cemetery.
