Obituary

Clinton O. Kingsford, 77, died August 1, 2017 surrounded with his family from Natural Pressure Hydrocephalus. His body is now free of the many limitations of NPH over the past 18 months.

Clint was born February 1, 1940 in Lewiston, Utah to Alton and June Kingsford. Clint was the 1st child of 7 children, (Clint, Karen, Cheryl, Lynette, Lanis, Doug and Angie) grew up on Kingsford Korner in the farming community of Cove, Utah. Clint learned to work at an early age thinning beets, picking beans and peas, milking cows, working in family gas station, hauling hay for local farmers. Clint participated in basketball, football, track and baseball in high school. Clint graduated with honors from North Cache High School in Richmond, Utah. Serve a mission for LDS Church to the Great Lakes 1960- 1962. Clint graduated from Utah State University in Logan Utah with a degree in Civil Engineering June 5, 1965.

Clint met his sweetheart Nancy Hayhurst, Haines, Oregon also a student at USU at her Baker 2nd Ward LDS Church on June 21, 1964. Clint was working for the BLM that summer as an engineer in training in Baker, Oregon. They were married June 7, 1965 in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple.
Clint began working for the Idaho Transportation Dept. of Highways after graduating from USU. That employment took him to Rigby, Lewiston, Boise, Kellogg, Coeur D' Alene and Shoshone, Idaho working on bridge and highway design, and highway construction throughout Idaho and bridge projects on I-90 and I-80.

Clint and Nancy felt the need to settle down with a growing family and establish roots. Rexburg, Idaho became his home for the next 41 years. He accepted a job in 1976 with Forsgren Perkins Engineering in Rexburg, Idaho after the Teton Dam Flood designing and overseeing construction of roads, sewer systems, and bridges in Eastern Idaho for the next 13 years.

Clint went to work at the INL Site in 1989 for the next 17 years which took him to work on projects at the INL Site, Florida, Ascension Island, Portugal, and Hawaii designing and overseeing windmill projects, sewer systems and roads. Clint was a licensed Land Surveyor; Professional licensed Civil and Structural Engineer in Idaho and Florida. He loved his Civil Engineering career.

Clint has always been an active member of the LDS Church serving wherever he was called and working with many young men in the BSA of America to achieve their Eagle Rank, attended the BSA Philmont Training Center in New Mexico, serving in Bishoprics, High Councils, and Rexburg Center Stake Presidency, and a faithful home teacher. Nancy and Clint served a proselyting mission for the LDS Church to Dallas, Texas 2006-2007. He served as an Ordinance Worker in the Idaho Falls and Rexburg Temple with his wife Nancy for 10 years until his health declined in 2015.

Clint is survived by his wife, Nancy, of 52 years, 6 children: Camille (Gordon) Southam, Madisonville, LA, Kimberly (James) Miller, Ammon, ID Brian (Amanda) Kingsford Rexburg, ID, Jennifer (Karl) Ricks, Layton, UT, Daniel (Brenna) Kingsford Colorado Springs, Co Stacie (Jeff) Grubb, Fort Mill, SC and 22 grandchildren.

Clint will be remembered for his friendliness, smile, firm handshake, making everyone feel welcome, and willingness work, to help others and show Charity.

The family would like to thank Aspen Hospice for their service to Clint the past two months.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9, at the Park Street LDS Chapel with Bishop Les Manner officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
